Macrocyclic antibiotics in the chiral separation

Chirality remains an import ant consideration for many compounds such as pharmaceuticals. Macrocyclic antibiotics are a new generation of chiral selectors. They have a number of stereogenic centers and functional groups, allowing them to have multiple intractions with chiral molecules. In addition to the hydrophobic moieties, these molecules possess hydrophilic groups as well as a number of ionizable groups, giving them good solubility in aqueous solution.
Keywords: macrocyclic antibiotics, chiral separation, supramolekule.
