The purpose of this work was to present therapeutic substances of synthetic and natural origin and cosmetic treatments used in acne treatment (Acne vulgaris). Therapeutic substances of synthetic origin in acne therapy are applied systemically and locally. It is worth emphasizing that currently used acne medicinal preparations and cosmetic treatments are becoming safer, and there is a wide range, dermocosmetic treatments based on fruit acids, laser therapy and microdermabrasion often used instead of retinoids, antibiotics, and benzoyl peroxide. The effectiveness of acne treatment affect not only medicinal preparations, but also good cooperation between the patient and the doctor or cosmetologist.
