Progress in hypertension treatment. Part 1. Pathophysiology of essential hypertension and current guidelines for hypotensive treatment
The article briefly discusses pathogenesis and the current treatment guidelines of the essential arterial hypertension, with the special interest on the role of new calcium channel blocker – clevidipine in the hypertension treatment. Moreover, progress of pathophysiological understanding of renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system, engaged in the hypertension pathogenesis, was described.
